Highlights & development overview

It feels like just yesterday we were going over the 2022 wrap-up, and now we find ourselves in April, with only 3 quarters left of the year.

It has been a successful start to the year here for us as we launched our final core d’app into beta mode and completed our multi-chain contract upgrade.

Town halls will be returning daily, as it was when we launched way back in April 2021, with the full utilisation of our live-streaming protocol.

The Hub

The stream section is far more than just a streaming d’app and serves as our main attraction. The real core of our offerings. Where everything intertwines through. On alpha, it will be the first thing users see when landing on dehub.net, serving as our hub, with the other d’apps complimenting it & vice versa.

We’re expecting a date to be set in the coming days for the beta upgrade rollouts that will ensure we are ready to start onboarding users across the crypto world. This is our first target market and the alpha focussing on retail/non-crypto native users. We provided a detailed update last week, found here, along with some key extracts below

We’ve upgraded all the contracts after the expected bugs and exploits were resolved. You will notice changes to both the front end and back end already, with plenty more to come over this next week.

We are going to start onboarding our first creators from April and hope to have many celebrating our official 2nd Birthday this April 20th. The same day back in 2021 that we launched the original streaming app and socials.

Public Beta Review

The core functions worked near enough perfectly, with minor bugs and logic issues resolved already.

1. PPV — create your own PPV in DHB, USDC or USDT (soon to be every token)
2. W2E / Bounty post — Create your own watch-to-earn in DHB, USDC or USDT (soon to be every token) and reward your existing community or build a new one with a turbo-boost.
3. Gated/Locked Content — Upload a post locked behind DHB, USDC or USDT (soon to be any token) holdings, so only holders of a certain token can access and engage or chat on the post.

Upcoming Features

1. Community live chat — you can all test it out now with limited functionality on the explore feed. Full functionality expected this week.
2. Leaderboards — currently live reading holdings & staked. Will also have a leaderboard for tips given, tips received, likes, followers and views for alpha.
3. Explore feed — Featured posts, ad space and endless scrolling features and short-style scrolling will be live on alpha. Users will have the option to select video length to scroll and not be limited to 7 seconds.
4. Profile — Ability to follow each other, set to go live this week. You will be able to subscribe for a monthly fee or DM each other in alpha too.
5. Minting — Option to mint on Polygon and Ethereum set to go live this week and the recommended option will be Polygon for the lowest fees. We aim to integrate all EVM compatible chains and beyond soon too.
6. Editing — Option to remove videos and burn NFT including metadata set to go live this week. As NFTs are minted on chain, you can’t edit videos after, however we added a warning on upload for those unaware.
7. Data + Analytics — Video analytics going live on alpha, so you can extract all your users’ data, track your viewer demographic and stats.
8. Monetisation — Every NFT you have minted so far, or will mint in future, is what accrues the ad revenue for each upload. Monetisation is set to go live on Alpha.
9. Live Streaming — Our live stream function is set to go live on Alpha, which includes interactive tip animations and text-to-voice generation, as highlighted in our white paper.
10. Buy and sell direct — Our fiat gateway will be live on Alpha, allowing non crypto natives to buy and use tokens without any wallet knowledge. Bundle packages can also be reversed to spend DHB.

Upcoming Enhancements

1. Mobile web UIX enhancements in line with upcoming IOS and Android APP. Currently advised to use Desktop for full experience, although mobile web fully functional too.
2. Magic wallet integration for non crypto natives, allowing web2 access and automated wallet integration.
3. Labels for custom uploads are being minimised removing the bulk of text on thumbnails and providing further clarity for users.
4. Stake-holdings being added to holding requirement to view uploads, this was a logic error.
5. Profile names will be dehub.net/USERNAME and not stream.dehub.net/WALLETADDRESS on alpha.
6. Option to switch chains and access profile when clicking the wallet or chain logo in the top right of the screen.
7. Notification centre for tips, likes and uploads from pages you are following with notification settings on.
8. Percentage rating on videos, so users can track moderation mining thresholds and generally gauge quality of video.
9. Option to change vote once (like or dislike button)
10. Option to mint multiple NFTs per video, offering another innovative form of fan tokens.
11. Option to set time limits on bounty videos to create urgency
12. Tippers on videos are highlighted on each post with their comments boosted to the top
13. Further utility for higher badge holders including trending and featured sections providing more exposure
14. Referral system for new users. Earn 0.1–2% of all tips from referred users, depending on badge.

Games

Along with our current line up of released games, we have a number of exciting ones pipelined for release this year on the arcade, as well as a UIX upgrade also in the works there. Such as street Slayer is scheduled for beta next month.

The arcade will also be playable on the upcoming IOS and Android apps while our hyper-realistic battle royale is pipelined for 2024, now that The Island is complete.

Marketplace

Our primary marketplace has been proving its worth since launch across a number of utilities and already crossed $100,000 in total sales. Since Opensea integrated BNB and removed fees, the need for our own secondary marketplace dropped the development pipeline, although it is nearing completion regardless. Users will be able to trade both the NFTs purchased and minted on our apps, all in one place, seamlessly.

Clubs

You’ll notice we updated the earn section, which can now be found under “Clubs”. So users looking for the staking section can locate it here or via direct link. This change was due to expanding the offerings in this section with recent developements also providing futher utility, such as the badge of honour system.

The only thing left now from our roadmap is the governance protocol set to launch in Q4 this year, as all of our d’apps should be in Alpha.

Another staking injection is scheduled before the 9th of April, ensure you have staked prior to then to receive those rewards!

Growth

Our BDM has already committed creators with over 10,000,000 total followers across YouTube, TikTok or Instagram joining the app as we hit certain M/DAU milestones.

Many are also partnered up to join at the start, with the first coming in at half a million subs alone. We’re working on a campaign together right now that is set to launch imminently.

There has never been a better time for us to be here too… Given the recent rise of Rumble and Kick, as many large accounts leave YouTube for freedom of censorship.

Look how excited their users are getting over the CEO of rumble raiding live streams with $100 giveaways. We are already competing with that scale, and they’re a $3bn publicly listed company.

Operations

The care package, highlighted in this tweet, with 30,000,000 DHB allocated for verified victims of Terra, FTX & Celsius is scheduled to commence unlocking 12 months after listing, as highlighted in previous updates. We’ve verified $60,000 in losses across the community, so when $DHB hits 0.002 victims would have recovered full value. Imagine if every project allocated a small % of their supply to victims. The long lock and subsequent quarterly unlocking of 10% will minimise any negative effects while building loyalty and trust in a market that which is scare of...

Holders on XT who did not withdraw during the notice provided can commence manual recovery from the first of May 2023. Simply send your XT wallet address to tech@dehub.net with the subject titled “XT Recovery” — a total of 20,000,000 DHB remaining on XT’s hot wallet will be burned then re-minted in a distribution wallet for claimants.

Wrap up

On the 20th of this month, we officially turn 2 years old and enter our 3rd year building in the space. Many of our active community have been here since the start and invested your time, as well as money into getting us where we are now. On the cusp of finishing our core roadmap build. As much as we want to celebrate, we aren’t ready for that yet. We will celebrate on our 3rd, 4th or 5th birthday when we complete our roadmap and hit our goals.
