Resistance Report Vol. 4 News from the project front. — Hello Fallers, It’s been a while. Lots of exciting things have happened on Trinity Island while we were busy developing. Considering the current state of the market, we have taken hard but necessary decisions with regards to the game development. In the end, we mostly chose to take the delay opportunity to make a better game than we had originally planned. You’ll have noticed that our latest trailer and demo have significantly improved visually. Our devs and artists are now building a futuristic Trinity Island with realistic graphics at the edge of what the Unity engine is capable of. We’re also thinking of maybe going one step further, but we’ll communicate more on this later should we decide to. We’ve made a second trailer to present these changes: medium.com On the smart contract side, we recently finished our in game token distribution smart contract and are working on integrating Arcana wallet and NFT platform as well as optimizing AWS servers before we launch. | Character Design Creating the base character for Nemesis Downfall Hello community, As you know we’ve delayed the $NMSIS token activities a little bit, but we wanted to let you know that while we’re optimizing token launch, the game development is on track and still going forward as expected. In the last report we introduced our new artists, and we’d like to give you a sneak peak at their work. — Character Design. — As you could see in our current trailer, we were progressing with a rather low-definition styled design for our main character — the base skin. It’s now time to work on a final design. While remaining inspired by our original basic design, our artists have been working on re-modeling the volumes in 3D on Maya. Bit by bit, they design the different elements around a model used for proportion references. The model then needs to be meshed and weighted to the animation skeleton that will be used to animate it. This needs to be done in an anatomically correct way, limb by limb, to obtain realistic motions. Character design is an important step in the game design as it is one of the most direct visible element, and as it “carries” visually the motions and interactions and embodies the whole gameplay. Any gamer will know that gameplay is one of the major components in creating a great gaming experience, as it defines how players interact with the game. It is a unique aspect of game development that needs careful conception, development, and refinement through testing and feedback. Gameplay mechanics include all the motions and interactions of the player’s character and other characters & items in the game. — It starts with motion. — Often taken for granted, the characters’ motions creation is actually quite complex.
