Ethereum Classic (ETC) Leads Weekly Gains Amidst Crypto Market Reversal

The overall crypto market shows signs of price reversal from the downtrend, boosting investors’ confidence. To start with, the week started well for BTC as the market saw its price above $22K. Bitcoin had traded below the $20K price mark until the close of the market on September 9, when it hit $21,381.15. Bitcoin price has added by 3.32% at the time of writing and now stands at $22,342.67. Other cryptos with commendable increases in 24 hours include Golem GLM with 52.43%, NEAR with 10.10%, Solana with 8.84%, Ravencoin RVN with 6.42%, and AVAX with 5.52%.   Uniswap, Quant, eCash, AAVE, BTC, GRT, and others have gained between 3 to 5% in the past 24 hours. But what about the weekly price gains? How are the cryptos comparing in their seven days price growth?  ETC Leads Others in Weekly Gains  Currently, the ETC price stands at $38.68, indicating a 0.22% increase in 24 hours. While this daily price increase is seemingly lower than others ETC has taken the lead in weekly increases. Its seven days growth surpassed many cryptos in the market.  ETC recorded a 20.47% growth in the past seven days, while others still struggle to add value. For instance, Bitcoin added 3.36% in the last 24 hours, but its weekly price increase is still at 13.13%. Ethereum has gained nothing in 24 hours. Instead, it lost 0.18% today, September 12, even though the slated merge date is fast approaching. But there's still hope since ETH's price is $1,744.66, and its weekly gain... read More

Crypto Markets Add $120B in a Day as Bitcoin Explodes to 3-Month High (M...

Bitcoin registered an impressive leg up, resulting in nearing $48,000 for the first time since the start of the year. The alternative coins are also well in the green, with impressive daily gains by Solana, Polkadot, Avalanche, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and more. Bitcoin Taps 12-Week High Bitcoin broke above $40,000 on March 16 and hasn’t looked back ever since. After a few close-calls, the asset started to gradually reclaim other round-numbered milestones, which ultimately led to tapping $45,000 a few days ago, as CryptoPotato reported on Friday. The weekend started in a rather calm manner as BTC had retraced slightly but still remained in a range between $44,000 and $45,000. Sunday was also a relatively slow day, at first, before it all changed. The cryptocurrency shot up by nearly $3,000 in hours and spiked to an intraday high of $47,800. Moreover, this became the asset’s highest price tag since January 2. The massive price increase also led to over $400 million worth of liquidations. As of now, BTC has retraced slightly and stands close to $47,000. Nevertheless, its market capitalization has neared the $900 billion mark. BTCUSD. Source: TradingView Alts See Green Most altcoins stood quite still during the weekend but, similar to bitcoin, have soared on a daily scale. Weekend Watch: Crypto Recovery – Bitcoin Eyes $38K, SOL Spikes 8%

Bitcoin's recovery attempts continue with the asset aiming to overcome $38,000. Most alternative coins have produced even more significant gains since yesterday. Ethereum is up by 7%, while Solana has jumped by 8%. Bitcoin Eyes $38K Ever since bitcoin failed to breach $39,000 on Wednesday, as the Federal Reserve said it will increase the interest rates in March, the asset was unable to display any notable gains. In fact, it dropped to $35,500 hours after the Fed meeting and was halted in its tracks when it tried to bounce off. After the second dip to the aforementioned local bottom, though, the situation started to change. This time, BTC spiked above $37,000, dipped once more to beneath that line, and went on the offensive again in the past 24 hours. As of now, the asset stands close to $38,000, and its market capitalization has reclaimed the $700 billion mark. BTCUSD. Source: TradingView Alts See Green: SOL 8% Up The alternative coins suffered in the past few weeks, but the overall landscape today is significantly more positive. Ethereum, which struggled to remain above $2,000 last week, now trades above $2,550. This comes after an impressive 7% increase from the second-largest crypto. Solana and Avalanche are among the best performers from the top 10 largest digital assets. SOL is up by 8%, while AVAX has gained 9%. More gains come from Binance Coin (2%), Cardano (4%), Ripple (3.5%), Terra (1%), Polkadot (5%), Dogecoin (3%), and MATIC (6.5%). Further price increases are evi... read More

Lightning Speed 004: What’s The Lightning Development Initiative?

There’s no denying that 2021 was the Lightning Network’s year. What does the future hold, though? If the objective is to onboard the next billion people, the network needs work and fine-tuning. To grab the bull by the horns, The Human Rights Foundation and Strike set up three 1 BTC bounties. The bounties will go to the first person or team to develop an anonymous Lightning tip jar, a tokenless way to peg BTC to dollars, or a privacy-focused wallet that supports some kind of Chaumian e-cash feature. In a Twitter Spaces conversation about the program, they named it The Lightning Development Initiative. A catchy name that we’ll use from now on to refer to all of this. This fourth edition of Lightning Speed is all about the future. Let’s explore the three ideas and the new information that we have about each of them. The Lightning Development Initiative In Twitter Spaces Among the speakers were Strike’s Jack Mallers, The Human Rights Foundation’s Alex Gladstein, Bitcoin Magazine’s Christian Keroles AKA CK Snarks, and Tales From The Crypt’s Matt Odell. It took place December 29th and Bitcoin Magazine hosted it. A Twitter user named Gigi summarized it for us. 🚨 A thread summarizing the Lightning Développement Initiative Space ⬇️ 3 amazingly interesting topic related to the bounties were discussed. I'm so bullish on Lightning⚡ it hurts. Very grateful to have these people on our side ❤️👑 let's look at my notes 🧵 read More
