Assuming everything goes well in the testnet beta, we are looking to launch the full gaming experience to the Avalanche C-Chain within 3 weeks of the testnet beta launch! Community members who hold a Hero NFT from our first summoning event will be eligible to participate in our testnet beta and win attractive bug bounties for identifying any technical or gameplay issues. All feedback and suggestions for improvement are welcome! More information about the testnet beta will be posted in the coming days — stay tuned! In addition to bug bounties, we are also looking into rewarding all beta players who play the testnet version of the game for a certain amount of time (did someone say…airdrops?). We put in a tremendous amount of time and effort to ensure that the products we ship are fit for purpose, but in our experience, something that works well in internal tests tends to break in unforeseen ways upon deployment. NFT Launch — Post launch analysis
NFT Launch — Post launch analysis Hello Dragon slayers! Wow, what a launch that was, a huge success with our 1150 NFTs selling out within 3 minutes from the first mint. However, obviously the launch did not go off without a hitch and this article is here to discuss what happened and how to avoid this in the future. Initial Delay Initially, the minting was supposed to open at 12pm UTC, however this was delayed by roughly 13 minutes. This was caused by our whitelisting process. Our code/contracts go through quite extensive testing, in this case we not only tested our whitelisting on Fujinet, but we also forked the mainnet and tested there as well. In both situations, the whitelisting bot took around 10 minutes to complete. Because of this, we set aside 30 minutes for the whitelisting on the live chain, thinking that a 3x time was enough, obviously we were mistaken as it took over 40 mins on the live chain! This was the reason for the initial delay of the mint button appearing. But why did we delay adding the whitelist so late? As this was our first mint, we have included various measures to prevent as many bots as we can. One of these measures was deploying the contracts as late as possible to the chain, this gives bot creators/devs much less time to analyze the contract and change their bots to attempt to mint the NFTs as soon as they are available. It’s been a wild ride going from my testing to having a full set of players in the game. I’m elated to have released it to our Dragon Nest supporters right within 2021, (it was only 12 hours or so until 2022 but we made it!) It’s great to see the alpha testers getting into Aurum Draconis! Of course, with players and more testing comes issues and improvements! I will list all we have done so far in the last 7 days.Day 1 1. Equip from popup fixed so it’s functional 2. Items getting wrong stats is fixed as the ID tracker is now persisted 3. Fixed scrolling not being able to be scrolled back up once combat has finished/mid-combat, better method of scrolling so it only updates when the log has changes 4. Fixed issue where you could spam the combat/fight buttonsDay 2 1. Fixed issue with level 1 and low defense making first enemies destroy you 2. Fixed issue with sizes of dialogs not working at certain resolutions 3. Added a better item ID system so items shouldn’t get the wrong stats 4. Added more loot weapons and a necklace/cape 5.
